Jewels Leading Lights Academy traces its roots back to September 2013 when it emerged as a Christian school birthed from Leading Lights Bible club established in the year 2012 where children congregated every Saturday to learn about Jesus and discover how to radiate as lights in their daily lives. Inspired by the vision of the bible club, there was a need to ensure consistency in raising godly children through Christian education hence, the school embarked on a transformative journey to provide exceptional education intertwined with Christian values.
Jewels Leading Lights Academy began as an Early Years Center in September 2013 with a maximum of 7 learners cutting across the Early years (the earliest being crèche and the oldest being Nursery 2 classes respectively). Recognizing the need for a strong educational foundation, the school swiftly expanded, establishing its primary school program in 2015. This marked a significant milestone as it welcomed young learners in their formative years, combining academic excellence with spiritual growth.
With a commitment to wholistic education, Jewels Leading Lights Academy continued to progress, introducing its secondary school division in 2017. Throughout these foundational years, the school exhibited remarkable success, achieving outstanding results in the common entrance examinations. Notably, 96 percent of its students had excellent results, setting the stage for a tradition of excellence that endures to this day.
Despite the inevitable challenges that accompany growth, Jewels Leading Lights Academy’s first five years were marked by extraordinary accomplishments. The school consistently embraced the ethos of inspiring and empowering students to shine their light, fostering an environment that nurtured both academic prowess and spiritual development.
In 2019, Jewels Leading Lights Academy attained accreditation from prominent examination bodies such as WAEC (West African Examinations Council) and NECO (National Examinations Council). This recognition reaffirmed the school’s dedication to maintaining high standards of education and integrity. Furthermore, in 2022, the school received approval from Cambridge International, adding another esteemed qualification to its repertoire.
In the year 2021, Jewels Leading Lights Academy proudly administered its first WAEC examinations, which showcased exceptional performance from its students. This achievement served as a testament to the school’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, providing a solid foundation for students’ future pursuits.
Today, Jewels Leading Lights Academy continues to radiate its educational brilliance, guided by its founding principles. With an impressive track record of academic achievement and spiritual growth, the school remains unwavering in its pursuit of excellence.
